February 12, 2024Exchequer – Finance Club of KSOM in collaboration with Kraya and Kuber, KIIT successfully conducted the 9th edition of Pre- Budget Discussions 2024 on the theme: ” A Glimpse into Budget 2024″
The Pre- Budget Discussions 2024 on the theme: ” A Glimpse into Budget 2024″ was successfully organized under the guidance of Prof. Shikta Singh, Associate Professor, KSOM and event coordinator.
Prof. Sumita Mishra, Dean, KSOM delivered the address for the Pre- budget discussion thereby encouraging the students to participate in more such activities. Prof. Shikta Singh set the context for the discussion .
The discussion was held amongst 5 student’s panelists representing sectors viz.
Agriculture and Rural development, Finance Industry, Infrastructure, Health & Education. The student’s panelist expressed their views on the progress and outcomes of the previous year budget and highlighted major aspects of their expectations from the upcoming budget 2024-25 in the respective sectors.
Prof. Tapan Panda, Pro VC KSOM, KSRM,KIIT DU addressed the students sharing his insights on the upcoming budget and also appreciated the efforts made by the students.
The judges of the event Prof. S N Misra, Prof. Satyajit Dwivedi, Prof. Damodar Jena, Prof. Praveen Mohanty and Prof. Saroj Routray also expressed their opinion and appreciated the student’s deliberations.
The event had a participation of around 400 students from MBA, BBA and B.tech. The discussion had a profound impact on learning abilities and development of the students. The Infrastructure panel was declared as the winner followed by Industry panel and Finance panel.
The trophies and Medal distribution ceremony happened in the august presence of Prof. Tapan Panda, Pro VC KIIT DU.
The program ended with the vote of thanks by Pratiksha Priyadarshini , a student of MBA I.
Overall, the event was a great success, providing a platform for students to engage in meaningful discussions and gain valuable insights into the budget-making process.
