Topic: Differentiating in the knowledge Eeconomy – An IT Services

Sudhir Madhugiri Vijayakumar has over 13 years of experience in the IT & Consulting industry, having worked with marquee Indian companies, namely, Wipro Ltd. and Infosys Technologies. After completing his B.E. degree from UVCE (Bangalore) in 1999, he began his career as a software developer at Infosys and quickly grew up the ranks to play the role of Onsite coordinator. He worked for clients such as Apple Computers, North Western Mutual and Swiss Re over a period of 2.5 years. As an additional responsibility, he anchored Knowledge Management practices and processes for the Business Unit he was working for. Subsequently, for a year, he played the role of a KM Process Architect and Process Evangelist for Infosys as a part of the Corporate KM Team anchoring a successful corporate-wide initiative for introducing KM across the project lifecycle in all projects at Infosys in 2002-03. After a 44 months stint with Infosys, he took a career break in 2003 and pursued a full-time PGDM degree from S. P. Jain Institute for Management & Research, Mumbai. He joined Wipro from campus as a Consultant in 2005 and has worked in a variety of consulting engagements in North America, Europe and India for customers such as McNeil (J&J) – USA, Dell – USA, AXA – France, PwC – UK, Visteon-USA and Maxis – India. He has a fair understanding of Insurance, Manufacturing, Telecom, Consumer Electronics and Automotive industries.

He has rich experience in IT Strategy definition, Technology evaluation & selection, Technology spend analysis, Enterprise Application Portfolio Management and IT Governance spanning areas of Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management and Human Capital Management in a variety of industries. Between 2009 & 2012, Sudhir worked with State & Central Government customers of Wipro in India. From 2010, he was the Regional Practice Head anchoring e-Government Consulting projects & customers in South & West India, responsible for top & bottom line and people management. He has had rich experience across multiple States & UTs in large programmes such as e-District, e-Panchayat, CCTNS, SSDG, JnNURM and ERP Programme Management in PSUs covering the entire e-Governance project life cycle.

He has special interest in the area of Agriculture, given the country’s growing population and diminishing self-sufficiency to establish Food Security. Another area of interest is Innovation and topics such as Green IT, cloud computing & big data as applicable to the Public Sector. Currently, Sudhir works with Office of Chief of Business Operations (COO) at Wipro on special initiatives aimed at bottom line improvements to counter tough economic scenario & tectonic technology shifts. Sudhir is a Certified Talent Transformer, PRINCE2 Practitioner, P3O expert, Managing Success Programmes expert, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and TOGAF practitioner amongst other company specific qualifications he has earned at Wipro & Infosys. He has taught full credit courses in IIM-Indore since 2012. He has been a faculty for programs of National Institute for Smart Governance & IMG-Kerala. In his spare time, Sudhir likes listening to music, browsing on business and technology trends and socializing with friends and family. He enjoys sharing knowledge and mentoring his team members and fellow professionals. He cherishes interacting with people from a wide cross-section of cultures and backgrounds. He is a life-long student of Indian Philosophy and spirituality – topics which invigorate him. He is based out of Bangalore and speaks Hindi, Kannada, English and elementary German (which needs a lot more practice).
