Blended Learning is a new approach wherein learners learn via electronic and online media as well as traditional face-to-face pedagogy. Educators across the globe now agree that this ‘hybrid education’ that uses online technology is not just a supplement, but it helps transform and improve the learning process. Blended learning helps to deliver a holistic academic experience for learners. Learning happens best when learners “do” rather than “listen”. The blended learning approach ensures that the learner is completely engaged and is driving his or her individual learning experience. Blended learning therefore takes the best from Face-to-Face interactions and online written discussion boards and other graded activities to achieve the desired outcomes. The discussion boards are an integral part of blended learning as the learners not only discuss a case study or a problem with their peers but in the process enhance their soft skills and writing styles.
