Suva Kanta Mohanty
Director

Prof. Suva Mohanty is the Director of KIIT School of Management (KSoM). He received his PhD from the University of Reading in England. He was awarded prestigious GRiSP scholarship from CGIAR to pursue his PhD in Applied Economics and Marketing at the University of Reading.  Prior to his PhD study, he was awarded university merit scholarship and graduate assistantship to study MBA at the University of Wisconsin in the United States. In addition, he completed courses in material management in Stuttgart, Germany.  In the past, he has worked for various companies such as Firstlogic Inc., Welshire Capital LLC, AlliedSignal (Honeywell Inc.) and AES-CESCO in the United States and India.  Prof. Mohanty teaches Marketing Research & Analytics, Retail Management, and Consumer Behavior.

Before joining KSoM, Prof. Mohanty was the HDFC Chair, Associate Dean-Administration and Chairperson of Marketing Department at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). Prof. Mohanty’s research focus lies on food security, consumer behavior, sustainable marketing, retailing, and value chain of agri-food products. He has published articles in the Journal of Agricultural Economics, Global Food Security, International Journal of Gastronomy and Food Science etc. He has conducted various management development programs for senior managers and was engaged in projects pertaining to ODOP and agricultural value chain. He was a consultant to CGIAR for projects such as “Understanding Behavioral Drivers of food Change in Eastern India” and “Investment Game Application for Farmers in Odisha”. Currently, he is engaged in a CGIAR led transnational study titled “Transforming Agri-Food System in South-Asia”.
