KSOM organizes its 4th National Business Analytics Konclave

KIIT School of Management (KSOM) organized its 4th National Business Analytics Konclave on August 19th, 2023. Prof. Piyusa Das, the Convenor of the Conclave, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed dignitaries and set the context for the day. He said that the true power of analytics lies not in answering the questions but in enabling us to ask the right questions and questioning our assumptions, status quo, and complacency.

Prof. Kumar Mohanty, Director, Corporate Relations, KIIT, gave the welcome address and and greeted the corporate guests on behalf of Dr. Achutya Samanta, Hon’ble Founder,  KIIT & KISS and  Dr. Sasmita Samanta, Vice Chancellor, KIIT.

The inaugural session was followed by a panel discussion. It was on the topic “Business Transformation with the Adoption of Analytics.” Mr. Deepak Sharma, an Analytics, Strategy & Operations Leader, moderated the panel discussion. The panel comprised of Mr. Nitin Gupta, Senior Director-Enterprise Analytics Data and AI, VISA, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Head of Data Science & Analytics for the International Service Support Group at Lenovo, Mr. Deb Kumar Majumder, Partner and Data & Technology Transformation Leader at IBM Consulting and Mr. Sanjay Kar, Head of Analytics at Equifax India. The panel discussed on the evolving analytics landscape and how businesses have adopted it with time. They further deliberated that the development of analytics tools has been driven by the need to solve complex problems and make better data-based decisions. They advised the students to be very focused and curious while pursuing careers in analytics.

Prof. Mohar Banerjee, Chairperson, KSOM Conclaves, delivered the Vote of Thanks. She reiterated that KSOM & KIIT always prioritize industry collaborations and it is an imperative parameter for any global University.

The panel discussion was followed by six parallel workshops. These interactive sessions were based on topics related to Data Science and Analytics, Text and Natural Language Processing, Usage of Analytics in Operations and Banking systems, Big Data Analytics & Generative Artificial Intelligence. These workshops provided participants with valuable insights and diverse perspectives on analytics.

The conclave provided students with an opportunity to interact with business leaders from the industry. It created a platform to connect industry professionals, academia and students.
