KSOM became the first school in the University to start the new batch of 2020.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Honorable Founder. KIIT and KISS, inaugurated the program by lighting of the lamp at 11:00 A.M. Prof. S K Mahapatra, Director-KSOM, delivered the welcome address. It was followed by the address of Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro Vice Chancellor and Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor. Prof. S N Mishra, Dean-KSOM proposed the vote of thanks. 292 students attended the inaugural ceremony online over Zoom meeting. All faculty members and select members of the staff attended the inauguration in person in KSOM auditorium maintaining social distancing norms.

The orientation in the afternoon covered address by the Director-KSOM, Dean-KSOM, and presentations by the PGP Chairperson, Head of ICT, the Placement & Training team and Area Chairpersons. The Director in his address briefed the students on the learner centric NEP-2020, and highlighted aspects concerning attitude, skills and knowledge. The Dean in his address briefed the students on being humble and serious in attending all academic and research engagements at the school. The PGP Chairperson presented the regulation, syllabus, academic cycle, faculty members, teaching-learning process, student development and extension activities. The functional area chairpersons presented the philosophy, thrust areas, activities and courses related to their respective areas. The head of ICT presented the ICT infrastructure and the learning management systems. The training and placement team presented the current reality, vision and training plan for the batch.
