
KSOM hosts “KERNEL: New Product Development Exhibition”
November 18, 2024KIIT School of Management successfully hosted its flagship corporate mentoring program, Konfidant, on December 14th, 2024.
Konfidant is a program aimed at providing the MBA students an opportunity of mentoring from eminent corporate leaders during their academic journey at KIIT School of Management (KSOM). Through the program students are connected with industry stalwarts who take over as mentors to a small group of students assigned to them as mentees. Through this program, students are connected with industry stalwarts who take over as mentors to a small group of 10 to 12 students assigned to them as mentees.
The program is managed by Prof Mohar Banerjee Biswas, who is the Konfidant Chairperson for KIIT School of Management. The program has a strong support and guidance from the KSOM leadership team, led by Dr. Suva Kanta Mohanty, Director KSOM and Dr. Sumita Mishra, Dean MBA KSOM. This year the program saw 18 industry leaders collaborating with KSOM as corporate mentors and guided more than 200 MBA students. The corporate leaders were impressed with the process of the program and the idea of mentorship and commended the students and the school for managing and engaging with industry on such a large scale.
The program started with an inaugural ceremony where the context was set by Prof Mohar Banerjee Biswas, Konfidant Chairperson. Dr. Suva Kanta Mohanty, Director KSOM, welcomed the guest to the program and explained the concept of mentoring done by KSOM over the last few years. Dr Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT University, addressed the gathering and explained the long term mentoring initiatives that the university has been taking. He also stressed on the philanthropic initiative undertaken at KISS University and urged the guests to visit the university. The session ended with felicitation of the guests followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. Sumita Mishra, Dean MBA KSOM. The inaugural session was followed by a one on one discussion between the guests and the students on resume building, career augmentation and preparation. The guests were very impressed with the preparation level of the MBA students and congratulated them on their thought clarity.
The industry stalwarts, who were a part of this year’s edition came from well-known companies like Hindalco Industries Ltd, Honeywell, DELL Digital, UltraTech, Wipro Investment, JSW, and many more. The half a day program led to the initiation of a long lasting mentorship journey between the students and the corporate mentors.
